Macedonia Brook Blue Trail

6.8 Miles 2:50 Minutes

Great Hike! I started at the parking lot over the bridge and proceeded up the steep trail to the top of Cobble Mountain. The blue trail as it passes over four peaks that are 1,200 feet, 750 feet, 1,300 feet, and 800 feet in height.

The trail begins with a switchback ascent over easy ground . This hike is part of the Connecticut Blue Trail systems so you encounter very few other hikers. The trail then proceeds to turn steeper very rocky as you hike a ridge with spectacular views of the hills. The climb continues for a full two miles to the peak of Cobble Mountain with rocks and scrambling along the way.

The way down from Cobble Mountain is steep and rocky. I fell here in June and injured my wrist and scraped up my forearm pretty badly. I have been using poles from that day one:) Anyway be careful in this section if it is wet the rocks are very slippery. There is a ten foot face that you must downclimb. The rest of the hike is less strenuous with great views.
